As the Palos Verdes Library District approaches a major milestone — its Centennial, celebrating 100 years of service to our community — Jonathan Beutler is proud to reflect on the progress made and to lay out his priorities for the term ahead. Having served as Trustee since 2022, including as Vice President and now as President of the Board, Jonathan has approached every decision with one guiding question: how do we protect this District's legacy while making it stronger for the next generation? Two priorities have anchored his service, and will continue to guide his work if reelected.

Fiscal Stewardship

Taxpayer dollars are precious, and Jonathan believes they must be managed with discipline and care. As Trustee, he has brought a consistently prudent approach to the District's finances — treating every dollar as an obligation to the residents who provide it, not a resource to be spent lightly.

Looking ahead, Jonathan is committed to continuing this disciplined approach: ensuring the District's budget remains sound, that spending is transparent and well-justified, and that the community's investment in its library system is protected for the long term. As PVLD nears its 100th anniversary, sound fiscal management is what will allow the District to carry its legacy of service into its next century.

World-Class Services for a Special Community

Jonathan is deeply proud of the library programming PVLD has continued to develop under his tenure — programming that reaches a truly diverse audience across all ages and backgrounds. He credits the District's dedicated staff for this achievement, and has worked as Trustee to empower and support their efforts to serve the community well.

Going forward, Jonathan will keep working to ensure PVLD delivers world-class services and programming for every resident, neighbor, and stakeholder in our community. As the District builds toward its Centennial, his focus is on solidifying the progress made so far and ensuring sustainable, high-quality library services for generations to come.

Jonathan is grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and does not take the responsibility lightly. If reelected, he will keep working tirelessly toward these two goals — prudent fiscal stewardship and world-class services for all — so that the Palos Verdes Library District enters its second century as strong as it enters its first.
